Sabre88, LLC Hosts Open House

Newark, New Jersey, April 30, 2012- Robert Cottingham, Chairman & CEO of Sabre88, LLC and his staff hosted an open house reception at their new office location, 211 Warren Street, Newark…..the Enterprise Development Center which is operated by the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).

Sabre88 is a global consulting firm. It has capabilities in technology, public policy, international affairs, healthcare and education. The staff is able to provide both government and commercial agencies with the necessary tools to address emerging and pursue global opportunities.

The history of the firm was shared with the guests. Tribute was paid to the late Congressman Donald Payne who was an avid supporter of the birth of Sabre88, LLC.  Dr. Joel Bloom, president of NJIT, welcomed Sabre88 and praised Bob Cottingham for choosing office space in the Enterprise Development Center location.  Donald Payne Jr., president of  the Newark City Council, and Essex County Freeholder expressed his gratitude and applauded Bob for being a model for other emerging businesses by bringing his business to Newark.

Sabre88, LLC awarded U.S. Navy Contract

Newark, New Jersey, May 1, 2012 – Sabre88, LLC was recently awarded a contract for program management services needed in support of NAVAIR Lakehurst  communications. Among the worldwide operational and maintenance activities are aircrew systems, automated test equipment, avionics, communications and navigation.

Lakehurst is the Navy’s designated field activity for Common Support Equipment (CSE) and is responsible for the acquisition, distribution and life cycle support of all support equipment required for aircraft operations. This contract is to provide comprehensive program management and acquisition.

Sabre88, LLC will also provide project management and program logistics management assistance in support of daily operations and tasking. The Sabre88 personnel will attend and provide management support at team meetings, planning conferences, and procurement reviews. In addition, Sabre88, LLC will assist in the formulation of program and project budgets in support of the program. The primary place of performance will be on-site at NAVAIR Lakehurst, NJ.

Under this contract Sabre88 is responsible for support activities necessary to assist and support GSA Network Services within the financial billing system used for contract/inventory management and customer billing.  Sabre88 is providing accurate data entry into the Telecommunications Ordering and Pricing System (TOPS) with validation from government personnel and shall develop/work with data in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel.  This includes financial data entry, data control, operations documentation, and monitoring and improving procedures.

Sabre88 will receive and review input and output data (billing documents, spreadsheets, faxes, email documents) which includes an analysis of system input data to determine applicability to customer/user requirements. Sabre88 personnel will also collect, merge, research, update, integrate, and migrate data.

During the discussion SBA representatives presented the President’s vision for the future and actions taken to support small businesses. Some of those actions include, holding agencies to their small business contracting goals, access to capital and tax break incentives. SBA policy representive David Chait expressed his concern with agencies not meeting their goals and stated that the SBA is looking into ways to take punitive action with more teeth.

Orange, New Jersey, June 29, 2011 – Sabre88 wins contract award with the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  Sabre88 will begin providing Network Engineering Help Desk Support to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in Washington, D.C.  The contract is set to begin its period of performance August 1, 2011 with two option years.  Sabre88 is proud of this achievement which was contracted off of its GSA Schedule 70.  CEO Robert Cottingham stated “Sabre88 has worked very hard to provide excellent solutions to our customers who are seeking quick and thorough responses.  Sabre88 looks forward to this opportunity to partner with the Bureau.

During the meeting Sabre88 presented information detailing the successes and failures it faced in attracting business opportunities within the state and why there were many more opportunities in neighboring states for small businesses.  Sabre88 detailed the manner in which the State of New Jersey constituents are served by New York and Pennsylvania based regional headquarters and the impact on the local potential workforce having to travel out of the state to its neighbors.  The impact on a federal government contractor is that any contracts could be better served by utilizing a labor pool in those states as opposed to one in New Jersey.

Also discussed was the fact that policy considerations need to be reviewed with regard to how the Economic Development Agency of New Jersey addresses proposals for potential job creation.  Often business owners criticize the agency for assisting them after all necessary assistance has already been received.  During the conversation it was expressed that the EDA could review proposals which scale job creation in a different manner and create more job growth in the long term as opposed to trying to achieve a goal of creating a fixed number of jobs by a time certain.  Please see this concept of slow and steady job growth for the long term expressed on Sunday Morning where Anthony Mason spoke with economist Lakshman Achuthan of the Economic Cycle Research Institute on the United States’ unemployment rate and the chances of a faster economic recovery (Job Growth Clip).
