Federal Grant Administration Associate

Type: Part-time (30 hours per week), Hybrid

Security Requirements: Background Investigation and SWAC Clearance

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Sabre88 is seeking applicants for our Federal Grant Administration Associate to support our client in Jersey City, NJ. This position is for 30 hours per week working collaboratively with the grant team overseeing the grant management process, and managing documents, deadlines, and budgets. The ideal applicant would have the skills and knowledge needed to track grant results and ensure that grant recipients comply with the terms and conditions of the grants. Would possess tacit knowledge of financial management and budgeting, a proven history, and fluent knowledge of the federal grant life cycle. Experience working with UASI, Port Security, and Transit Grant Programs would be value added.

Major Responsibilities:

 

  •  Managing grant reimbursements for grant programs: Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) and the Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP)
  • Analyze data related to the PAPD Heightened Security Initiative Counterterrorism Overtime
  • Advise and guide the client on grant issues to ensure compliance with federal grant laws and regulations, and the agency’s policies and procedures
  • Comply with and maintain all aspects of the grant processes to ensure a high level of quality control
  • Maintain post-award grant management, ongoing financial reporting, and compliance management
  • Communicate and interact with various agency stakeholders and grantors
  • Administer record-keeping functions including, correspondence preparation, program compliance, grant administration, fiscal report preparation, and monthly and quarterly accrual submissions
  • Perform proposed activities per the grants RFAs/RFPs and application process
  • Submit timely programmatic progress and evaluations as required by the Notice of Award
  • Identify and report any changes in the project or proposed activities
  • Generate and submit documentation required for grant closeout
  • Participate in evaluation and audit response activities

 Minimum Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business, Finance, or Public Administration
  • Five (5) years of experience managing federal grants
  • Excellent knowledge of grant proposal and application submission processes
  • Proven history of grants management within all aspects of the grant lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience with federal, state, and local funding sources (the Homeland Security Program, UASI, Port Security and Transit Grant Program)
  • Extensive knowledge of the usage and applications of the Federal Grants Management User Resources
  • Familiarity with UASI Risk Methodology
  • Knowledge of the Preparedness Grants Manual
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of grant opportunities and informational sources
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and team adaptability skills
  • Ability to take direction and change direction fluidly
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple deadlines
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work well under deadlines
  • A valid driver’s license

Background Check/Security Requirements:

 

  • Must successfully pass PAPD background investigation
  • Must obtain SWAC credentials (Secure Worked Access Consortium)
  • Must successfully clear 3 reference checks
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
