Orange, New Jersey, July 27, 2009. The State of New Jersey certified Sabre88’s request to be recognized as a Minority Business Enterprise. Meeting the requirements set under New Jersey Executive Order #34, the state of New Jersey offers Sabre88 services and opportunities that serve to leverage the State’s purchasing power to strengthen and expand the growth of the Small, Minority, and/or Women Business Enterprise (SMWBE) community.
The requirements of the MBE program are as follows: Any business whose management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more minorities or women owner(s), and which is at least 51 percent owned by one or more minorities or women is eligible to participate in this program. The women or minority owner shall demonstrate technical competence in the affairs of the business to satisfy the requirement for operational control. A business may apply and be eligible for more than one status, such as minority- and women-owned business (MWBE), which can be certified as both MBE and WBE.
